Post processing

I personally don’t use the script sabToSickbeard.py. I simply tell to SB where SAB puts the download of the TV category. SB will then poll this directory for new episodes every 10 minutes. This configuration works very well for me. If some provide a clear way to install the script, I will added here.

Postprocessing:

Login as root with putty:
mv /usr/local/var/sickbeard/autoProcessTV/autoProcessTV.cfg.sample /usr/local/var/sickbeard/autoProcessTV/autoProcessTV.cfg

Sabnzbd config:
Post-Processing Scripts Folder: /usr/local/var/sickbeard/autoProcessTV
Categorie TV: script: sabToSickBeard.py

Sickbeard Post Processing Configuration
TV Download Dir: enter the correct path, for instance /volume1/downloads/complete/TV
uncheck Keep Original Files
check Move Associated Files
check Rename Episodes
uncheck Air-By-Date Format

Quick question: Do I HAVE to check “Move Associated Files”? I don’t really care about subtitles or such when downloading TV shows, but I’m afraid unchecking this box will somehow effect the metadata its adding (silly I know). Just curious…

Oo sorry, one more quick question: Do I have to label the category TV? I’ve seen other examples that label it sickbeard (for instance on the SABnzbd tutorial). I think I’m mostly just confused on how SABnzbd reads these categories. Is it by the category name? Do I need a category for tv AND for sickbeard as in the same SABnzbd example?

Move Associated Files isn’t necessary. I use it to keep the original nfo files.

Only one category is needed and by default it’s already using tv. You can change it, but that’s just more work and addons for firefox/chrome like nzbStatus add things also in TV. Just change the script for categorie tv from default to sabToSickBeard.py and you’re done.

Thanks Guido! I don’t think I fully understand but I didn’t have the categories set up in SABnzbd by the time Sickbeard was set up, so I had to manually set all the categories, but now Sickbeard seems to be sending things to SABnzbd under the TV category, although I’m not sure if thats happening because of Sickbeard or because it reads the TV tag from the indexer and applies that tag. CouchPotato sends nzb’s under the couchpotato tag I created…

I can get SAB to run sabToSickBeard.py when it’s finished, but Sickbeard doesn’t seem to notice when it’s downloaded. It runs the script but nothing seems to happen. The file doesn’t end up in the correct directory.

Do I have to edit autoprocess.config as suggested here?

I notice that zebulon just monitors the folder rather than worrying about the script, but it would be good to get this working as designed.

Okay, finally worked out that the reason it stopped moving files using sabtosickbeard was because I had set a login and password. Solution was to edit the contents of /usr/local/var/sickbeard/autoProcessTV/autoProcessTV.cfg to include a login and pwd.

Hi.
I’m trying to install sickbeard on my 207+.
I’ve have successfully installed python 2.6.6-5 and sabnzbd 0.6.15-2, and sab is running fine.
Sickbeard (3.1-1) installed fine, and when I try to start the service I’m told that the service has been started, but in the list it is still listed as not running – and when I try to open the sickbeard page (via the DSM menu icon) I get a page does not exist error.
I hope someone can help me!
