It seems Headphone is gaining some attention these days, and that some people want me to package it. It shouldn’t be that hard, due to the nature of the software. It needs Python, but nothing fancy, no special machine dependent package (these need to be cross compiled, and Python packages are not always that easy to handle).
I tried it on my DS408, and although it still needs some more polishing, it seems quite promising. It only lacks a auto update feature to be packageable as an SPK. Without this, I would need to create a new package every time a commit is done. Which I obviously don’t want to do. And that won’t be very practical for you either. I opened an issue on Headphone to ask for this feature, so please vote on the issue #28 of Headphone. As soon as this is implemented, I’ll do my best to provide you a nice package for Headphone.
As a final word, I’m thankful to you guys asking for new packages. I won’t be able to do every of them (like Deluge or pyload, but I might do this last one), but it shows that you value and find my work useful.
