It addresses the following issues:

(1.1) The port number is 8081. No change in the spk, just a few word here as this information was missing. Thanks Morten for reporting this on CouchPotato.
(1.1) Ensure that the PATH environment variable contains standard synology path only, and no any 3rd party directories like ipkg. Reported by Diaoul on CouchPotato, thanks.
(1.1) Make the DSM icon available for every user, not only the admin. Reported by kauhl on transmission 2.30b1, but it affects all my packages.
(1.1) If SABnzbd is not configured, go on without connecting SB to SAB. If you later wish to use SABnzbd as a downloader for SB, you will need to setup it by hand, or do a full reinstall of the SB spk.
(1.1) Add the web UI port to the DSM Package Manager interface. It will get updated if changed if the in the application.
(1.1) As the first start may take some time, give it more time to start before reporting an error.

This spk requires my SABnzbd spk to work correctly (it uses the same python binaries and libraries). You must install at least version 0.5.6 patch 1.

Tested with DSM 3.1, on a DS408 and a DS210j. Not tested on DSM 3.0, but it should work. Please report success and failure, as you always do. Does it run with DSM 2.3?

The package is about 1.9MB, and the install size is 6.5MB. It will grow to 11MB at the first start (python compiled files), and more due to cache files and logs. All is cleanly removed when the package is removed.

The package is compressed using xz, and supports all the NAS supported by SABnzbd spk, i.e. all the NAS from the x07 to x11 series.

Build with the pick of the day of SickBeard (it will be outdated when you install it, so use the update feature of SickBeard). No changes were made to the source code. Specific scripts to the Synology DSM were also added.

When I first installed on my DS211j it worked fine…then I kept getting disk i/o errors in the log so I uninstalled it…when I try to run the program after reinstalling I get a “fail to run” error…any ideas?

Loving the package, great work. Only issue I’m having at the moment is with ezRSS, which could well be my crummy connection.

Is there any way with the current build to get it to call synoindex after post-processing? Only flaw at the moment is the lack of visibility of files in media libraries until re-indexing is done.

I’ve recently had an issue where by i cannot download the latest commits? It was working fine for weeks until today (20/04/11). I’ve also noticed that there are SSL errors in the log related to EZTV as i’m only using this for torrents…

Do I have to create a new user called sickbeard? I tried to add a show but it gave me an error saying that it was unable to create the relevant folder. I did install SABnzbd before installing SickBeard. Thanks.

If my DS1511+ is shut down unexpectedly (recent i had we had a power failure) SAB and Couchpotato with run on boot up no problem, but Sickbeard refuses to run.

If i shut down properly, no issue. Is there a way i can ‘reboot’ sickbeard or run it manually through putty so i can shut it down cleanly and run it again without having to install?

Hi,
Thanks for this package, it’s a great help to have it packaged up.

However, I cant update the app now. Whenever I try to update via the link at the top of the sb page (latest commits) it fails with:

“2011-04-24 11:40:38.089707 CP Server Thread-9 :: Invalid update data, update failed: ['midgetspy-Sick-Beard-48caf04', 'midgetspy-Sick-Beard-5615b07', 'midgetspy-Sick-Beard-5bca9f6', 'midgetspy-Sick-Beard-9c3fa61']”

Any ideas? I have updated the package to 1.1 and it still occurs.

Is there a way I can keep my settings/shows info and clear the app and reload then restore the settings? Or do I need to do a complete start from scratch!

After an afternoon of googling. It looks like I need to delete the Update folder and let the update process recreate it as it may have incorrect/old files there.

Trouble is, I cant get to delete the folder. It’s owned by the sbanzbd user and when I log in as admin in the telnet session, I cant make any changes to that folder…

Any clues?

Hey guys,

Im a real noob when it comes to this but so far i was able to install sickbeard and Sabnzbd just fine on my nas DJ 110j. Problem im having is after a few days sickbeard doesnt want to start up. I tried rebooting and same issue. I have my nas turn off daily at 3pm and start at 8am. When it started today sickbeard didnt start. Only way to get it going again is for me to uninstall and reinstall sickbeard. Is there a fix for this? Or am i the one off? Any help would be great. Also i did not update the files on the app. I left it the version of the spk file. Please let me know . Thx

Installed this package yesterday. Saw the same issue where after the unit’s powered off then on, it won’t load, automatically or manually. UPS died this morning. After work I turned the NAS back on, and SB won’t come on. Used this to turn it back on:

/usr/local/sabnzbd/bin/python /usr/local/var/sickbeard/SickBeard.py

Synology’s package manger doesn’t see it’s on though.

I have the same problem as above. After restarting my Synology DS410 sickbeard no longer runs. Only solution seems to be uninstalling and reinstalling. Hopefully there’s a solution/fix for this?

Hello, it work perfectly on my ds411+ but only things doesn’t work. It’s multiple language. I relly need for french and I didn’t find it.

Help! Everything has been rocking along just fine and then I took the latest update and *POW* it’s dead

Service won’t start up at all even after a reboot of the whole NAS. I’m going to remove it and start over from your latest package but just a word of warning that something has killed it!

Fingers crossed it was just a one off for me, either way many thanks for all the work put in on the packages you’ve made, I’d be lost without them!

I have to SSH in as root and run the command given by wired
/usr/local/sabnzbd/bin/python /usr/local/var/sickbeard/SickBeard.py

We’ve been having a lot of power outages due to storm damage. Has anyone come up with a solution? I can’t reinstall every time I lose power or need to reboot the NAS. I’m fairly competent with a command line so just point me in the right direction. I’m willing to help find the cause just need some direction as to where to look. Since I can start it from the command line I think something is broken with the Synology package manager integration parts. That is where I intend to look first unless someone has a better idea or a solution.

Well that was easy

The problem is just that the pid file: /usr/local/var/sickbeard/sickbeard.pid isn’t cleaned up. Just delete it and all is well again. I’d suggest also adding a bit of code for process checking and pid file cleanup to the startup script.

Am I missing something simple, I add a show to download to /volume1/downloads/Family Guy

After download sabnzbd moves it to /volume1/downloads/complete/TV/Episode Name

How can I get it to move it to the original location or somewhere that makes more sense as i dont want the TV folder full of folders of episode names it would be better if it was /tv/show name/episode name/

@Chris, if you are using SickBeard then you can set SickBeard up to grab the tv shows from the downloaded directory and rename and put the files in the folder of your choice.
In SB Config -> Post Processing -> In here you can setup all the files and folders you wish.

If you just want SABnzbd to dump the files in a different directory then you need to setup Categories in SAB.

Nice packages, maybe in the next versions you can enable the sickbeard postprocessing by default:

Login as root:
mv /usr/local/var/sickbeard/autoProcessTV/autoProcessTV.cfg.sample /usr/local/var/sickbeard/autoProcessTV/autoProcessTV.cfg

Sabnzbd config:
Post-Processing Scripts Folder: /usr/local/var/sickbeard/autoProcessTV
Categorie TV: script: sabToSickBeard.py

Sickbeard Post Processing Configuration
uncheck Keep Original Files
check Move Associated Files
check Rename Episodes
uncheck Air-By-Date Format

I have the ds110j and have got sabnzb installed, is there a guide that will help me install sickbeard. this is very new to me, but would really like to figure it out..

i aint used Linux so i have no idea what some of the code is.. Please can someone offer some help/advice..??>

Please do NOT automatically enable postprocessing. I don’t need it and I dont want it. And in about 20% of the things I download it fails for one reason or another. The post processing itself works, but the scripts in the background run into all kinds of problems. So than I have to correct the resulting mess by hand.

And I definately do NOT want any program moving around gigabytes of files for no apparant reason.

Your solution of deleting the pid file worked for me. Sickbeard will now start after a diskstation restart. Thanks for the heads up. Hope this gets fixed if another package is released.

Hi – Thanks mark this worked for me –
I am quite new to synology world – would it be possible for someone to give a quick post together on how to add a process check and removal of this file to the startup script.
