CouchPotato 1.0 spk

Along with the SABnzbd repack, here is a new spk: CouchPotato, downloadable here. Take a look to its web site for what it does for you and how to use it. This spk requires my SABnzbd spk to work correctly (it uses the same python binaries and libraries). Also note that SABnzbd must have gone through the setup wizard and have a valid configuration file for CouchPotato to install. This is needed as the installation scripts will read SABnzbd web port, user name and pass word, and the api key to configure CouchPotato. If you don’t do so, CouchPotato will refuse to install and take you to the download page of SABnzbd.

Tested with DSM 3.0, on a DS408 and a DS210j. Not tested on DSM 3.1, but it should work. Please report success and failure, as you always do.

The package is about 1.8MB, and the install size is 8MB. It will grow to 14MB at the first start (python compiled files), and more due to cache files and logs. All is cleanly removed when the package is removed.

The package is compressed using xz, and supports all the NAS supported by SABnzbd spk, i.e. all the NAS from the x07 to x11 series.

Build with the pick of the day of CouchPotato (it will be outdated when you install it, so use the update feature of CouchPotato). No changes were made to the source code. Specific scripts to the Synology DSM were also added.

Hi,

After trying myself the past day to install CP and SB via terminal interface I was about to give up, because I could not get SB to work, but somehow I found your packages which are great! thx

I was only searching for the correct portnumbers. It might be an idea to put the url in the spk?

I will be testing tomorrow. Need some sleep thx again.

@Rob : nice, I hope it will work as expected! Concerning the port of the web ui, as this is a user setting, I can’t set it in the spk’s INFO file. The information there is static and is not updated when changed by the user. You can use the DSM icon to get the port number in the redirected URL.

Which port is CP using? SB is using 8081, but what about CP?

Hi there

Some bugs :
* echo $SBDIR/logs/CouchPotato.log in start-stop-status => This is CP not SB
* su $RUNAS -s /bin/sh -c “cd $CPDIR && $PYTHON $CPPY” => su can refer to /opt/bin/su if you have IPKG installed with coreutils. Since DSM 3.0 (or 3.1, can’t remember) IPKG’s su can be buggy and not allow to use /bin/sh, this line will result in an error. The workaround is to use full path to su (/bin/su) or maybe (not tried) correct the env variable PATH to fit your needs (remove IPKG’s part of it).

I’d be glad that you contribute to syno-packager https://github.com/Diaoul/syno-packager. I already worked on all possible newsgroup related SPKs, have a look
Yet, I think there’s still a lot of work to do.
I picked some ideas long time ago from your transmission SPK, I think that was the prepost-common thing and a race condition.

@Morten: Hum, I should have documented the default port, sorry for that. it was obvious for me that everyone will got through the DSM icon, but I was wrong. As you say, the default port is 8082, as the default port of CP (5000) is used by the DSM interface.

@Diaoul: thanks for the bug report. I didn’t tested every single bit as I should have, sorry for that. Concerning the ipgk compatibility issue, I didn’t thought about it, I will enforce the variable PATH to be safe. I will take a look to your open source project, but I can’t promise anything. If you use parts of my work, it would be fair to note it somewhere. But as I didn’t put any copyright notice, you have no obligation and I won’t really mind.

Hello,
What path to write for CouchPotato to download into incoming Transmission directory ?
I tried, but nothing is working, but CP is informing me it snatched the movies.
What is wrong ?

@xice: You can try to uninstall and install again to get the settings to their default values. You could also try to manually edit the file /usr/local/var/couchpotato/config.ini, but unless you know exactly what your doing, you might make things worse. Don’t forget to stop CP before editing the config file.

@niewiesznic: As explained here, transmission looks in /volume1/transmission/incoming, this is the exact path you need to setup in CP. The folder incoming must be created by hand in the transmission share. This is valid only if you use my transmission package.

@Zebulon: I have set path to /volume1/transmission/incoming, I allready have the incoming directory (i used it with tvshow mac program), but its not working with Couch Potato I dont know why.

@niewiesznic: Good news! I haven’t tested the torrent download myself. nice it hear that it works. Can you share your experience on what was wrong?
